The SVGC is a more cost-effective solution compared to our ASVG solution. The cost reduction is achieved by using a capacitor bank to take the central portion of the Var compensation. At the same time, the active filter will compensate for the intermediate steps and the inductive reactive power. Also, the active filter will work as a load balancer and harmonic filter. 

The EMES SVG module will control the capacitor banks through fast switching thyristor control, thus minimizing over and under-compensation of reactive power. The harmonic filtering done by the SVG module will make sure that the capacitors have optimal working conditions, thus extending their life expectancy.
